Guasacate: start with the beach and village
Guasacate is worth comparing if your plans centre on beach walks and exploring local food spots. Our local guide includes businesses such as Dutchy’s Deli and Amahula, along with the natural pools at the northern end of the beach. Check each address instead of assuming every listing is a short walk away.
When comparing accommodation, ask about the route to dinner, noise at the times you plan to sleep, and transport after dark. For families, a beach nearby is not the same as a beach suitable for swimming on every day of the trip.

If lessons are the reason for your trip, compare the route to your instructor’s meeting point. Beginner Bay beside Magnific Rock is a popular lesson area, while the Main Reef and Outer Reef require very different experience. Staying near a famous break does not make it appropriate for your ability.
A kitchen and a comfortable place to rest can be as useful as proximity to the waves. If your group has mixed interests, make sure non-surfers have a practical plan for transport, food and time out of the sun.
Santana and Hacienda Iguana: compare the exact property
Rancho Santana and Hacienda Iguana are nearby coastal communities with their own accommodation options and access arrangements. Compare the particular house, its location and confirmed guest inclusions. A rental address inside a community does not automatically include every restaurant, pool or activity advertised in that area.
For a day visit from elsewhere, confirm visitor access directly. Keep beach access, gated-community access and access to paid facilities as separate questions. Avoid building an itinerary around a facility until you know the arrangements for your dates.
Surf Ranch: a house or condo as your base
Surf Ranch Popoyo offers hillside houses and condos, with private-pool house options and kitchens for a more independent stay. It is a coastal base, rather than a promise of stepping directly from your bedroom onto the sand. Check the arrival route and your chosen unit’s position before deciding.
Choose a condo for up to four guests, a two-story house for up to eight, or a single-level house for up to six. Our main pool and restaurant are opening soon; the facilities in your selected accommodation and any separate beach day pass should guide your plans.
Make the final comparison
Put your shortlisted properties on one map. Compare total price for the same dates and guest count, including taxes, cleaning, transport and any separately paid access. Then check cancellation terms and what happens if your flight arrives late.
