Choose the experience before the room
A surf camp can suit travelers who want accommodation bundled with a scheduled program. Ask each operator how many lessons are included, the coaching ratio, which ability levels they accept and how they choose breaks. The words “surf camp” alone do not describe a complete package.
A private house or condo suits groups that want their own kitchen and schedule. At Surf Ranch Popoyo, you book accommodation and arrange surf instruction, equipment and transfers separately unless a written offer includes them.
Compare the full trip cost
Compare the final total for the same dates and number of people. A package priced per person and a house priced for the whole unit are not directly comparable until you include the extras.
Ask about meals, taxes, airport transfers, surf transport, boards, lessons and any cancellation terms. A low room price does not tell you what the entire trip will cost. Neither option is automatically cheaper.
Match the trip to your group
Beginners benefit from an instructor who can assess conditions and choose an appropriate learning area. Experienced surfers may prefer flexible transport and time to explore. Mixed groups can split their day between surf, pool time and local outings.
Our houses accommodate up to eight guests and condos up to four per unit. For larger groups, plan more than one unit. Retreat leaders can use the Gather page to discuss accommodation and a proposal around their own program.
Plan beyond the surf session
Arrange arrival transport before the trip, mention surfboard bags and keep airport timing separate from your first lesson. Read our surf guide for a starting point, then take local advice on conditions on the day.
For a flexible stay, stock your kitchen for breakfast and explore local restaurants later. Your private house pool is separate from Surf Ranch’s shared main pool and restaurant, which are opening soon.

Is Surf Ranch Popoyo an all-inclusive surf camp?
Our house and condo stays are accommodation options. Meals, instruction, boards and transfers are not automatically included. Any package needs explicit written inclusions.
Which option suits a mixed group?
A private house can give surfers and non-surfers shared space with separate daily plans. A coached camp may fit travelers who want a structured surf program.
Can I host a surf retreat?
Send your dates, group size and program through Gather. Accommodation and requested arrangements are subject to a written proposal.
